I was born hearing in a family of deaf people. When I was 8, I had an ear infection, and my second-grade teacher assumed I had hearing difficulties. She suggested that my mother transfer me to a school for deaf guys. That's how I ended up there, where I studied until the 8th grade. But then I decided to transfer to a mainstream school, finish all 11 grades, and pursue my dream of becoming a flight attendant.

Thanks to my grandmother and an unexpected connection, I got my first chance to visit Europe. A friend of hers invited me to stay, and I decided to take the opportunity. I managed to save up from my pension and spent a month and a half exploring Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy. Then I went back to visit them for another month over New Year's. One unexpected encounter gave me the chance to see a world I had only dreamed of before.

My future: me, a loving husband, and two beautiful angels. A villa by the ocean, sunrises, family breakfasts, a spacious car of my own, and a successful business. But above all, it's not about luxury. It's about financial security, peace of mind, and the freedom to simply live without constantly worrying about tomorrow. An evening by the ocean, the sun setting over the water, the angels playing on the beach while my husband and I hold each other and watch the sunset. He makes plans and brings them to life, while I get to enjoy the moment, be with the people I love, and feel truly happy. I dream of a life where I no longer have to control everything or constantly plan for the future. I simply live, love, and enjoy every single day.

At the school for deaf guys, I experienced severe bullying. I was bullied for being able to hear well, loving to study, and standing out. Eventually, I even started deliberately getting bad grades and pretending to be less intelligent just so my classmates would accept me. Everything changed in the 8th grade when my teacher encouraged me to transfer to a mainstream school. There, I had to learn how to communicate and adapt to a completely different world all over again. But despite everything, that school also gave me beautiful experiences: traveling to different cities, playing volleyball, dancing, and performing in the main square of my hometown. The saddest part is that I once made myself seem less than I really was, just to feel accepted by others.

Moving abroad is not just about changing where I live. It's a lifelong dream and the feeling that my real life is only just beginning. I want to see the world, live by the sea, watch sunrises and sunsets, meet new people effortlessly, travel from one city to another, and enjoy a €3 coffee on a sunny terrace. I want to wake up one day and feel that I'm free, I'm happy, and I'm finally living the life I've always dreamed of. I made it.
